OK, you've surfed and surfed and had your fun. Now that you've landed, you may ask 'how do I make a homepage ?' It's called Hyper Text Markup Language. It really isn't hard to write with HTML. There are many good books out there. The Idiot's guide series has several out on HTML. My favorite is by Laura Lemay called Teach Yourself Web Publishing With HTML In A Week. OK, so it took me longer than a week. But I didn't think it was too hard. There are simularities to IBM's BookManager if you have any mainframe authoring experience. Yeah, OK, so it isn't even close. HTML's got <>'s and HREF's and 41BEBB's and things. BookManager has .ul's and .li's and .td's and.....hey so does HTML. Whatever, you'll see.

The best teacher is looking at a homepage. Start with a good looking homepage and view the source document from your web browser's pulldown option. It's the best way to figure out 'How'd they do that ?' With Netscape, click View then Document Source. IBM's Web Explorer reveals the page's secrets by clicking on File then View Document. If you get real confused at what you're looking at, pick a simpler page. Or read a book. Learn. The fancier the page is, the harder it is to write and understand. Pictures, tables, frames, animated gif's, sound, vidio, and bears, oh my. Then onto Java scripts. Cool. Pick a simple page if you're just starting out.

Just remember that even though these HTML's are downloaded to your computer, they don't belong to you. Something about a copywrite law or something. I guess the old addage of Look, don't steal may apply here. yeah....yeah....yeah....yeah
